On this day - 13th January

It would seem that QGate's inception is just about the only good thing to have happened on January 13th. In fact, it might just be the only thing that happened on January 13th 1997.

The BBC reports that on the same day that Rowland Dexter and Mark Cooper formed QGate, gun shots were heard at the besieged Japanese embassy in Peru. Other than that, it was a quiet news day.

Happily, joining QGate among the famous births on January 13th is Michael Bond, the author who created Paddington, the bear from darkest Peru; William B Davis, the actor famous for his role as the cigarette smoking man in the X Files; Tord Grip, Sven Goran Erikson's assistant while he was manager of England; Carol Cleveland, the English actress who appeared often in Monty Python; Orlando Bloom, the English actor famous for his roles in Lord of the Rings and Pirates of the Caribbean; and Stephen Hendry, the snooker player.

Whether these people are aware that they will be celebrating their birthdays with one of the world's leading providers of add ons for Sage's CRM solutions is unclear.
