SalesLogix v7.2, released in August 2007 and recently named product of the year, constitutes a major milestone in the evolution of SalesLogix. It delivers the Application Architect which enables codeless customisations of the web client. In addition, numerous minor enhancements and fixes have been made to the LAN client.
SalesLogix v7.2 represents the first phase of Sage's multiclient architecture. This provides a single development environment and enables the common deployment of applications. SalesLogix v7.2 is built on ASP.NET and XML technologies and it can support web services and easy integration with existing CRM and ERP implementations.
By enabling codeless customisation - using templates and wizard-driven processes - IT staff are freed up from entry-level development and can focus on more advanced, coded customisations. Business analysts can now carry out this work in the application layer, distinct from the underlying data.
