CRMUG Summit Tampa 2013 – a great event for Dynamics CRM Users

Read our review of the 2013 CRMUG Summit, Tampa event.

I am just out of the CRMUG summit event at Tampa.  Figures for attendees show good growth for the event.  The event is actually a multi-product event, with around 3,000 end user delegates from across the Dynamics product range, just over 500 of them are CRM users.  Each product has its own User Group agenda, break out sessions and keynotes.  There were general keynote sessions as well.

The main general Keynote speaker was Tony Dungy a well-known American Football player and coach.  He gave a very inspirational talk.

The feedback we had from the delegates was very positive, some highlighting the information gathered through the numerous breakout sessions.  Also many comments about how useful the conversations between delegates had around the dinner tables, at the bar, just swapping experiences and tips with other users.

Obviously, CRM 2013 was a key topic and there were a number of sessions around the new release, but also many sessions covering areas of improving user adoption and best practices within CRM.

At one session I attended the question was asked of the 50 or so people in the session, “how many of you have user bases of over 500?”  Half the room put their hands up.  There were a lot of 1,000 plus user implementation customers there.  So the amount of experience on hand was tremendous.

I believe any CRM user should seriously consider being a part of the CRMUG, I believe it adds a very valuable resource to anyone running Microsoft Dynamics CRM.  Even if you are not working with a partner you don’t have to do it on your own.  There is a real sense of community here.  The regular and growing number of global regional meetings, webinars, online training sessions etc, with cream on the top being the Summit event make CRMUG exceptional value.  I am certainly looking forward to the next Summit event, and hopefully, there will be a European Summit as well in 2014.
